is it possible to retrieved emptied trash? Netscape 7.1

Despite best efforts -- and thanks for all the help from here-- some of a client's email --netscape 7.1 -- was emptied with the trash due to a computer "glitch" in the massive copying, and pruning that I was doing on an overrun mailbox. Where does emptied trash go? And is it retrievable in anyway? (And if the answer is retrieve the backup Yes, I did make a backup -- but it's on a millenium os...and the files I painstakingly located to back-up weren't the files that held the current data...sigh.)

Incidentally, a "no" answer would help here too.

Should anyone else want to know, the answered is No if the folders were compacted. Maybe in other cases
