I am able to log in to all other websites through all browsers.

but hushmail is not coming up.

the page takes a long time to load then I finally chrome says "this website is not available"

can anyone suggest a reason for this?

how can I access this website?

I have tried today with IE, Chrome, Firefox, Opera.

I need to get into the nuts and bolts of this to know if it something I did.

I had a problem after I download Freenet and Java. But the problem I was having seemed to be with firefox.

so I removed all three programs using CCleaner and then Revo Uninstaller.

I am wondering if I deleted something that I needed for Hushmail. But if that were, why would just one site be inaccessible?

I just downloaded a microsoft java program. But still could not access hushmail.

Can you try from another location like your office?

    Can you get here:

    Unblock my computer

Thank you for contacting us. We'll respond shortly.

We’re sorry that you were mistakenly blocked from accessing Hushmail. We use an automated system to detect and prevent spam and other types of abusive behaviour, and occasionally good people get caught in our trap.

Be specific, what MS java program?

Java is not needed to open any Webpages, only for certain Webpage content. Besides, MS no longer provides new Java Runtimes for Web browsers. Use Sun Java JRE (Java Runtime Environment).

Open FF and Clear ALL History.

Microsoft doesn't have a Java program. Sun has the Java program.

I am not sure of the relationship, but I think MS did provide a java version a few years ago. I downloaded it because I am trying to use 1. ms stuff and 2 older programs, since my computer is several years old.

Nope. I just cleared the history for FF and got this:

    "The connection has timed out

The server at www.hushmail.com is taking too long to respond.

    * The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
    moments.

    * If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
    connection.

    * If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web. "

this entire account has received and sent exactly zero emails. It has one email in the inbox, the one hushmail sends you when you sign up. There is no way that could be interpreted as "spam and other types of abusive behaviour. "

That was back in the days. I think that it was in the middle of XP sometime that they were sued by Sun for some reason. That is when they quit providing it with the OS.

That hushmail blocked addy looks like you can get to them (hushmail) from there with a complaint.

Uninstall that Microsoft JVM. It is very insecure and you will be prone to malware via Websites.

Open a command prompt and do:

    ipconfig /all

    & post the result.

    tracert www.hushmail.com

    & post the result.

Freenet may have altered your Internet connection settings to us its proxy server. Check Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections tab > LAN settings button. And check Firefox > Tools menu > Options > Advanced tab > Network > Connection > settings button.

Microsoft quit providing their version of the Java virtual machine very shortly after the release of SP1 for XP. Then MS quickly released SP1a, which did not have their Java virtual machine.
No further security updates were provided for their VM.

Can you explain how to find it to uninstall it?

Microsoft JVM is not showing up in the Add/Remove Programs list.

Otherwise I can try Revo Uninstall which can cause problems.

I am not an IT Manager so Microsoft will not allow me to download their removal tool.

I downloaded the exe but it refused to extract. I tried three times.

The second link you gave me, MAJOR GEEKS, is a scam site. It lets you download the entire program called REIMAGE to remove msjvm without telling you you have to pay first.

Then it refuses to do the removal unless you sign up and pay.

So I had to just remove REIMAGE.

I have the msjvm on my desktop.
I can simply delete it unless there are other files in other places.
    I can also try Revo.

You are wrong. MG is as any other site and offers advertising to pay for the bills. If you click on an advertiser link it is up to you to evaluate the product on offer.

The page Tony linked to clearly has (at the top):

They all link to the unmsjvm.exe file.

Do not use Revo to uninstall the MSJVM. The MSJVM installs files all over the place and it tightly integrated with the operating system itself. Using anything other than the MS uninstaller can hose your system, requiring a complete wipe of the hard disc and a new install of the operating system and software.
