How do I tell WinNT to release the IP address while booting up? Can I put a command in one of the .ini files? This is a HUGE problem when our people go from one office to another. Once they log on at the main office, their laptops retain that IP address and then they cannot log on through their remote office servers.

Do laptop users have local admin rights?

No, none of the users have admin rights. I was hoping to find a way to include an IP release command in the start up process.

Could try running the ipconfig /release command as a service using srvany, firedaemon or autoexnt. Don't know if it will work.
