Have you deleted any files lately, or tried to uninstall any programs?

Sounds like some clean-up was done on the computer and deleted the uninstallation log file that is required for the uninstall of some program.

If you delete installed files or directories for an application, rather than using the application-removal utility, the action deletes the log file. This makes application removal impossible, as well as the removal of system registry entries. The application-removal utility has no installation information and will fail.

    FZWG....
I did unistall a game that the kids had on the computer, but I've done that before & no problems. This "Invalid Uninstall Log" little window only pops up from one friend who sends me mail with attachments...anybody else, no problems! When I click on the paper-clip & get the window..To save to disk or Open, when I click to open...the error window pops up,but only from this one person.Of course, usually the attachment came from someone to someone..etc. & then to me. I don't know...just have to live with it I guess! Thanks!

    makison,

Hard tellin' what lurks behind that pop up message when that particular person sends you an e. Particularly when it is one of those pass-me-on messages.

Have you run a virus scan to make sure their message does not carry anything you do not want? If you know this person good enough, you may want to consider telling what is going on, and asking whether they have virus protection, etc. Can't be too careful these days. I got a virus from a friend's email, and that was a bear to get rid off.

Then again, it might just be something totally harmless, or maybe some incompatibility issue with their email and yours.

    Good luck!

    FZWG....
Yeah! Hard telling what may be causing this error. It's nothing that I'm that concerned about as usually it's just drivel & such, but
a few times I was curious enough to try & open some. Well, thanks for the help anyway!
