I have looked through the forum and cant find anything to help me.
my laptop has a teac dvd/rw cd drive and also a floopy drive, interchangable.
I have just do a format and now my teac dvd/rw cd is not reconised so I cant boot from my recovery disk.

I have downloaded the winxp home boot up disks (6) in all and got to the very end, then I take out my floppy drive and replace it with the teac dvd/rw cd and it comes to say cant continue this is because its not reconised.
Has anyone got any ideas, I know i can sort it if I pay £254 for a toshiba dvd drive like the one that came with it but broke.
    Thanks :(

Set BIOS to boot from CD..

Look in the manual to see how to access your BIOS. Do so and select boot from CD as first boot option. Then try again to boot from your CD.

    make BIOS setting.

    Liam,

    “I have just do a formatâ€
That should have erased XP from the disk and so the computer.

“cd rom thats not seen by winxpâ€
With no XP, there’s nothing to see the CD.

You’ll need to reinstall XP for your computer to work. And you need to set the BIOS so that it tries to boot from the CD first.
