I bought a second hand reconditioned Dell Optiplex GX110 computer as an office computer with a 'purged' HDD. After the HDD was newly formatted I installed Windows 98, then upgraded the browser to IE 6. The computer has a floppy disk drive and a CD Rom drive. I am having difficukty in attempting to use some programs stored on CD Roms as I appear to have a software problem. The example below is typical of the error messages I keep getting:

NTLNET caused an invalid page fault in
    module DIRAPI.DLL at 0167:68085667.

    Other DLL's are also affected.

I have searched Microfsoft knowlege base and perused the Internet for a solution. So can anyone help? It will probably turn out to be something easily resolvable and I will feel a complete fool, but I will be glad of any assistance.

    Thanks.

When you refer to "programs stored on CD roms," what do you mean? Are these files to install applications or are they programs that require their CD in order to run or are they program folders you've saved from another drive or computer?

Hotspur--DIRAPI.DLL is a Macromedia Shockwave file (for Director Player). If this were the only .dll giving you problems, I would suspect the PC has an outdated version of Shockwave. I guess it would not hurt to get the latest.
    www.macromedia.com
(Go to Downloads-Shockwave Player about in the middle of the page. You will need to permit ActiveX controls to run in order to download and also to run.)
However, you mention other .dll's are also causing problems. So maybe these need to be addressed also.
Is NTLNET a Danish ISP? Is it what you are using as an ISP? If not, how is NTLNET involved on your PC?
