Is it normal to get this message using windows 98 and trying to make CD/RW work. ( invalid directory name for drives G), also same message for zipdrive and CD? CDRW will read but not burn using Nero CD burner. Have new mother board CDRW is set as master. CDRW is also fairly new and never used. Nero seems to be burning the CD but nothing appears to be on it when I open it. I am thinking the drive is not set up properly in Bios. I have Sisoft Sandra and the program is telling me that the CMOS Bios have a problem but I don't know how to fix it. I am not sure the problem is related to the CDRW though. I can read from all the drives but burning is a problem. Windows says everything is working fine. Help!

I'm not sure if this will help, but I use Nero and have had no problems, as such. Depending on the write speed of your CDRW and the version of Nero that you use can cause conflicts. You need to use the latest version of Nero. I am using 5.5.9.0 and this works at all speeds.
Some folks don't like Nero and have resorted to Roxio, which works for them. Be careful if you change software that you completely uninstall the first one, as you will encounter many problems and conflicts. Uninstall and re-boot, then add new software.
One other thing; I assume Nero knows which drive you are using to write?

Thanks for the tips. Have some checking to do and will let you know what works. It apears that Nero is conflicting with some other program. On the CD for Nero it says to uninstall completely any other CD writer programs. I am not sure how I will find all the pieces of CD writer which I used to use. It clearly states that Easy CD writer is not compatabile, the CDRW program for Nero also says that I have to use Nero software. I wonder if that is true? I did the thing where Nero finds the drive, next to the drive letter for a short time it did say Nero something or other then disappeared. Should it do that? Still no luck burning the CD, even having problems with the program coming up now. Go figure! Reinstalled the program 3 times. Anyway still working on it. Wish me luck looks like I am going to need it. Might just completely reinstall the hardware and all. Thanks again
