Introduction

I forgot to introduce myself in my first post.
I am a retired, 73y.o., former manager of the LSU Eye Center in New Orleans, LA. I did managerial work there for 32 years before retiring and moving to Mannford, Oklahoma. New Orleans was becoming almost unlivable because of the crime and corruption problems. It had reached the point where it was dangerous to go into the downtown area, French Quarter, and other areas to the north of New Orleans such as the Metairie area. I lived on the 'West Bank" area of the city, Bocage Subdivision, which was for most of the 32 years was considered to one of safest subdivisions in the city.

What changed? Crime spread and moved into my subdivision. Just before I moved to Oklahoma, there was a home broken into and the house ransacked and robbed, and a homeowner was robbed at gunpoint, both about 1/2 block from my home. I have a close friend in Mannford, OK and was invited to move there. Less than two weeks after crime hit my subdivision I left New Orleans
for good. I have not regreted my decision. As much as I used to like New Orleans, I don't plan to ever go back there to visit or live there again.
