introduction

Hi everyone, my name is Gordon, and I live in yorkshire, near Sheffield. I am retired and have recently taken an interest in computers and how they work.
I have a dell laptop with windows vista basic and, a desktop computer( which is ancient). I am currently taking part in a beginners computer course based in Barnsley as my knowledge on this subject is shocking; and was delighted to find this website as security is of prime importance to me.

A friend of mine who uses, windows essentials , suggested, that I replace Norton with essentials: can anyone second this, as I have taken this advice and uninstalled Norton r better, let me know the most secure programme to use on my laptop. I look forward to learning from you all. Thanks.
