Hello everyone. my user name is Tmagic1, a retired systems engineer with unix and linix experience. Worked a lot with Windows but not indepth. I'm having and insue with my Dell OPTIPLEX 745. Was working fine then sort of got into a mode where the cursor would freeze intermittently and sort of move around the screen. attempted to reset system but got no response. it would not also power down so i pulled power plug. waited about a minute and re-applyed power. started system and got to the screen to select start windows normally which failed an restarted. i then got back to same screen and selected disable auto restart and then got "blue screen of death" with error code stop 0x00000024 ox00190203 0x89d82250 oxc0000102 0x00000000. got into recovery console and ran chkdsk which found and repaired errors. ran chkdsk a second time and got no errors. attempted a reboot but got same stop error. is a complete install of windows the only way to correct issue?? also have an IDE 312Gb drive installed. would appreciate any assist.
