Hi does anyone know if there is any software (free) that will allow a log showing the amount of download for a given day on three computers. These computers are connected directly to a Dynalink RTA1025W ADSL router/modem. I am trying to monitor my teenagers computers use. Pref this software would drop them to dial-up speed when their alloted usage was met.

    Hi, warpy55. :)

Pages 77-78 of your router's manual discuss System Log configuration options. There isn't much detail provided but perhaps the System Log can be configured to monitor/display the number of bytes transferred to/from individual computers in your network. You might have to manually clear the log daily to keep tabs on daily usage.

I doubt the router has a built-in option to automatically throttle down the bandwidth as you wish though.

Keep in mind I am not familiar with the following applications. Use this information at your own risk.

Note: CommTraffic is not freeware. However, you can apparently download a 30-day evaluation version from here.

Additional network traffic monitors available via SourceForge.net may be searched for via this link.

You may want to type traffic monitor into the field next to the "Search Results" button and then click the "Search Results" button (to search within the results already found). This apparently produces 60 pages of results (597 results). You can drill down to more specific results within those 597 results by typing other keywords (such as statistics) and clicking the "Search Results" button.
