Hi...
I'm using a laptop with Windows XP with McAfee security software and when I'm at home using wireless broadband, the internet connection keeps failing every 1-2 minutes. It reconnects automatically but this causes chaos when I'm trying to download anything or am using MSN. I'm pretty certain it's not the wireless router as the other pcs in the house doesn't have this problem, but this doesn't happen to the laptop when it's used at work on a LAN.

Every so often I get a McAfee message titled "bo:heap" and suggesting buffer overflow, I've no idea whether this is connected to the disconnection problem.

Can anyone help please??

Outlook bo:heap messages with VS8 and BO protection
The above Mcafee forum thread with a bo: (buffer overrun) with Outlook, but the problem seems to cross over to many applications / Internet connections. This thread started in September 2005 and has post through July 2006. The buffer overrun seems to be a on going problem with some users. It appears to be tied to McAfee VirusScan 8. I do not use McAfee, so I'm not sure if this is part of free or paid version / home use / corporate use?

Thanks for the response Dennis, I've since disabled the buffer overrun on McAfee as it was driving me mad. The internet connection still seems a little unstable though but for some reason if i load msn messenger by itself I can manage to get a conversation without too many interruptions, if i load internet explorer first then msn /napster you can bet the connection keeps chopping out. Curiouser and curiouser.....
