Internet Explorer won't let me change things.

Hey again,

I can't change the settings on IE, I try changing the home page, click ok and then try and open it up again and it hasn't changed. What could be causing this? And how do I reset the image under the X button in the top right had corner to the microsoft one, because at the moment its for my ISP.

Thundercracker, It sounds like you are a victim of a Browser Hijacker.

Get the latest version of HiJackThis here if you don't already have it.

Download and unzip it to its own folder somewhere of your choice. Then run it > press SCAN > wait for completion > Press Save Log > Press Save again > Edit > Select All > Edit > Copy > File > Exit > Then close HJT and come back here and paste the Clipboard contents for all to see. It would be best to paste it in a new post in the Security forum.

 

I'll just move this from XP to security to save making a new post.

 

This will fix your ISP branding. Will wait on the log for the restrictions.
