I have recently had to rebuild my system due to a hard disc failure and took the opertunity to upgrade to windows 2000 (possibly a big mistake)

I have encured a few problems with internet explorer since then. Under widows 98 there was a really useful tool "internet explorer repair tool ". Does anyone know where this has gone in windows 2000 ?

Another problem is people keep sending me instant messages saying visit this and that web page. How on earth do i stop people messaging/seeing my IP address ?

    For the messenger service problem:

There's an animated guide for turning off W2K's messenger service here...complete with narration.

If you're on a dialup and that takes too long to load, look here.
