I am working on an intranet application to where I need the screen to refresh automatically. I do not want to depend on a person to "hit "the refresh button. The current screen will always be open to a certain address, but if data changes in the base files , I want the internet explorer to automatically update the data on the current screen.
has anyone heard of anything like this ?

Hi dzgoda, welcome to the boards.

Its definetly possible, as many sites, such as news sites, enable you to open a window, then when something new happens it refreshes automatically and gives you the latest news story.

As for how to do it, not really sure what it entails. Be patient, someone on here is bound to know. ;)

Hi dzgoda welcome to Windows BBS

I'm not sure I'd want to help with this ;) I dislike it when a web-page has that ability -to much control over My Browser

Then again I have no personal experience with building web pages ,javascript ,HTML ,script .

Is this something you are after:
    http://www.javascriptkit.com/script/script2/autofresh.shtml

That was only the first hit I found, here is more:
    Here Google it

Don't take offense we often can find things better not being personally involved,,, if in deed that was what your are looking for.

I hope when I do find a useful page that has that annoying habit I can figure out how to turn it off,,

If that does not help describe what is:
"I am working on an intra-net application "

    Lonny
