I have an old windows XP SP2 system, with an old internet explorer. 4 or 5 i think. Anyways, all the time i hit the icon, and mcafee says something about buffer overflow protection. if i trust the process, i get constant popups, but if i block the process, it wont let me use the internet. Now then, ive fixed this twice before, and it KEEPS COMING BACK..!!

Also, (this might be a symptom) when i shut down, it says iexplore.exe is not responding, it has "end now" and "cancel" options. i look in the task manager, and if, say i have one window open, TWO iexplore.exe will show. Which means there is always one extra at all times.

Anyone have any suggestions before i lose my patience?

Update to IE6 at minimum, preferably IE7 or 8. IE 4 & 5 are obsolete & have no security.
