I have small problem, When I close Internet explorer on my Windows Xp machine it is not coming up with a box to ask if I want to disconnect my dial up account. I have this option ticked in the Internet options but it still does not do it.
    any suggestions please

Do you have the option selected to disconnect when connection may no longer be needed? In IE go to tools, internet options. Click on the connection tab. Select your account and click the settings button. Then click the advanced button and make sure that option is selected.

Also under the connection tab make sure you have always dial my default connection selected.

On dialup you sometimes have 2 little computer screens with arrows on the taskbar which you could right click and click disconnect. Well I did, back in the days of dialup!

You could try that, although having to do it another way to which you like is very annoying.

    Hello Kevin,

In my particular dialup setup, if I close IE or MSN Explorer, I still have to sign out and than seperately disconnect.

I like that because I use more than one Browser. It would be inconvenient if I disconnected every time I closed one of the Browsers.

    Regards - Charles
