    Once a day, regular as clockwork, a message comes up on my screen which says;
    " Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. "
    I am then asked to either 'debug' or 'cancel' - neither option seems to do anything and then a message comes up saying ' the programme is not responding' and I have to close IE.
    Can anyone tell me why this is happening and what do I have to do stop it? Thanks a lot......Mike

    Close IE.
    Go Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools, and click on Internet Explorer (no add-ons). Same thing?

    What IE version?

    Hi Michael, Welcome to Windowsbbs! :)

    In addition to what broni suggested if you are running IE7 or IE8 then click Start< Control Panel< Network and Internet Connections< Internet Options< Advanced Tab< Reset Button. Now open IE and see if you get the same error message when browsing the web.
