I have just upgraded to Internet Explorer 7 and the message bar is already driving me crazy

How can I disable the message "Your security setting level puts your computer at risk. Click here to change your security settings.. "

My security settings are at the level I want them to be an I do not want this irritating popup message bar interferring in my life!

Hi, you can turn off the Security Settings Check feature with the folowing registry hack:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Policies \ Microsoft \ Internet Explorer \ Security
    DWORD: DisableSecuritySettingsCheck
    Value: 1

Arie--Are you proposing that Registry hack be added manually? No problem, but I have no such key in the Registry now. (I looked in HKLM as well.)

ruthhope--There was an earlier thread on this,

It suggests that raising IE's Security level may be a good thing. Obviously it is your choice. You could try a little higher level of Security and see if it gets in your way.

Yes. Just add the key. It's normally not there.
