    Hi Welcome to Windows BBS

Do you mean the three buttons are still there but the words are grayed out ?
If so you probaly have some software installed and have ticked the option to disable reseting the homepage ?
Maybe SpyBot on the immunize page
{X] lock IE start page against (current user)

If you dont even have this program installing it and setting that option close it, go back and untick,,,, will enable the use of the homepage settings,, without having to tinker in the registry :)
Unless maybe you or a network has a policy set up.

Well in fact i now what program did this, its a flash game i downloaded fro the site www.whatsfind.com.
Now i updated my flash player to be sure (i think) not to be vulnerable to hacking.
But still i think the game was just ment to set the homepage, and disable its button (they are grey, even the text box).

I dont have spybot just adaware. (162) (if the game has an adware or a spyware it wasent detected by adaware)
Still, since i dont have spybot how can i set the homepage back, i 'm sorry but i didnt understand.
    thank u
    :)

Thats why I have bot if them usually if one doesn't find something the other will.
If homepage settings were disable without your doing then I at-least consider it mail-ware, spyware or homepage hijacking.
You didn't say if it changed you homepage ?

Anyway SpyBot Is donation-ware , or free. it has the ability to dim the three homepages settings as you describe, But thats for our protection against other users it will not prevent a hijack

    Whoops maybe you did say.
"since i don't have SpyBot how can i set the homepage back "
Let SpyBot fix everything ie place a check next to everything
except on win me I cant let it fix windows user tracts..those aren't check by default anyway, only known spyware mail-ware Trojans are checked already after a scan, click fix

If it doesn't find anything let us know.

    This maybe different on XP
Or navigate to this registry key
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions]
    "NoBrowserOptions "=dword:00000000
    ================================
It will look like this "NoBrowserOptions "=dword:00000000(1)
If thats the case right click in the right panel and modify
change the 1 to a 0, always export a key before changing anything, just in case.

Spyware blaster also has that ability,, under tools misc IE settings
SpywareBlaster - Prevent spyware from ever being installed!: http://www.wilderssecurity.net/spywareblaster.html

    regards

    Thank u,
    The regestry key worked
This is bizzar, regestry should have its own protection against internet spywares, at least to inform what keys have change when a program is being activated through internet...
Thank u again, ill never forget that key now
    :)

Well good But I still think SpyBot's good idea and the homepage setting will be changed again at some point, triggerd either from some program or possible even TIF temporary Internet files, be sure to clear the cache >>>> tools Internet options
[delete files] and [x]offline content to..
also might add that site to the restricted zone :)
    SpywareBlaster to(get)

I aggree whenever someting changes a policie we should be warned of it
    Good luck
