I see this was discussed before - I did read the comments posted several months ago. Should I download Internet Download Manager. Somehow some of it did get downloaded but I was prompted that I need to complete the process. Should I do that or just delete what was already downloaded.

    Welcome to WindowsBBS :)

Personally I see no point in paying $30 for a download manager when IE does the job just fine - albeit without the bells and whistles.

Hi H93, Welcome to Windowsbbs! :)

I agree with Pete. IE downloads files just fine so I wouldn't worry about using a download manager unless you require the extra functionality of such a program. There are free download managers available that you can use if needed so don't get duped into paying for one.

What Operating System and version of IE do you have installed?

While were on the subject, do third-party download managers speed up the download process? A friend of mine showed me how much faster he could download files with a download manager installed, but that's been a few years back.

Back in my dial-up days, I installed a download manager in case of disconnects (which happened often at times). The download manager made it possible to restart the download process without having to start over from scratch. It sure came in handy for large files.

EDIT: Welcome to the forum, H93. :)

Hi H93, Welcome to Windows BBS. :)
I use Mozilla Firefox which has a Download manager and don't have any problems with it On the Address Bar > Right side > there is an Arrow pointing Downwards.
When you download software, you can watch the process by clicking on the arrow and you can Launch the Install from there if you wish. Neil.
