Hello, Im new here, but I have a few problems. First, my computer was doing good until I installed sp2. From there, everything went bad. I have Norton Firewall, and when it is up, I can't access my internet explorer(6.0). But, when I turn off the security of my firewall, everything works. I tried to fix it on my own, but what do I know? What good is a firewall when you can't use it when you are on the internet? I will try anything!

You "should" have a Program section where you can block/unblock applications fro accessing the internet. Need to unblock IE.

Make sure that Windows Firewall is turned off if you are using Norton. The use of 2 firewalls running simultaneously is not recommended - not even by MS :)

    Need some more help!

Hey guys thanks for the advice. I thought I turned off my windows firewall, but I checked and it was on. I simply disabled it and then specified that I was using my own firewall. I can now access my internet with my norton firewall on.

Now a new problem exists. I can now access my internet with my firewall on, but there is a lot of pictures not showing (a box, triangle, and circle are in its place). And I cannot access hyperlinks. Everything is fine again when my firewall is off. I need a complete walkthrough on this one.

Dline62 --That symbol you mention often occurs when a site requires Macromedia Flash and that, in turn, requires that ActiveX controls be permitted to run.
To some extent what you do depends on what images that symbol stands for. Try a right click|Properties. What do you see in the Address line? Does it look like an advertisement? Maybe you would just as soon not see it? But if it is a meaningful image, then click IE Tools|Internet Options|Security tab|Custom Level|check the Enable box for "Run ActiveX controls and plugins "|OK.
Can you see the images? If not, go to www.macromedia.com and download/install Flash.
    Tell us what happens.
