My friend has AOL broadband, and has recently networked his computers.
Is it actually possible to share an internet connection on AOL so both computers can be online at the same time, or can this not be done?

    Help appreciated.

At a guess and without ever having messed with AOL, I'd say it will probably work unless AOL has some sort of requirement for login authentication and blocks the same ID from multiple simultaneous logins.

Certainly be easy enough to try.

    Hello,
Thanks for the replies. However, I'm running Windows XP (host) and Windows 2000 (client)

Well, I didn't find any other info on the MS support site about it, and have no other info about it myself.

AOL isn't your standard ISP however, so it could give trouble.

Might be worth looking at other (software/hardware) solutions.

I do not know about using Internet Connection Sharing but I bet a Router would allow it to happen.

Until I found out that it was installed on another machine one of the Neices was using AOL ( not for BroadBand ) at the same time I was on RoadRunner.

    Whoopee

    Hey,

Just to let you know - all is well. I found some proxy software and installed it on the host machine and asked the non-AOL machine to use that proxy, and it works as well as a computer works with AOL! :)

    Thanks for the help.
