connecting to the net, using dial up is really slow, when disconnecting, either manually or due to 2 hour cut off, my connection is listed as not responding. Clicking on the ctrl, alt and delete menu, doesnt list it at all! hence IM not able to end task on it. after waiting for approx 3 minutes each time, when i try to reconnect, nothing happens, it doesnt even bring up the dial up window. start menu only shows connection as blanked out.

Ive tried windows modem drivers, ive installed the manufacturers own drivers an nothing changes, 6 technical help people have had a go at changing the settings around, with no success.

if anyone has any help no matter how small, id very much appreciate it....

    Thanks in advance,
    Deano.....

finally traded in the machine fer another one, solved the problem straight away.

according to microsoft and various other sources, the Nvidia cards even when run with a pentium 4, are not totally compatible with XP, they only function at a certain rate, but nowhere near as fast as they should.

lesson learned here, despite having all the top equipment, bought as a package, ie, huge memory, pentium 4, pentium motherboard, top sound card, and XP the latest operating system, unless they are totally, and i mean totally compatible, then its as much use as a car without wheels!!!

thanks for all the PM's helping out, mucho grassyass :)
