Hello...I'm hoping someone might be able to help me. My dad has a Gateway laptop with Win ME. He has dial up service and IE 6 sp 1. he is able to make connection to his ISP but after his password is verified a page comes up indicating page cannot be displayed. He is unable to get on to the internet via any web page. Can anyone give me heads up as to why this would happen. He has done nothing new or added anything to the computer that would cause any changes...thanks

Frequently Asked Questions About Page Cannot Be Displayed Errors in Internet Explorer = http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=/support/ie/ie5/topics/pcbd.asp

Check to see if he accidentally added it to the adblock list or blocked it in = tools/internet options settings, and be sure firewall is allowing IE outbound access to the Internet.

Thanks guys...tried just about everything mentioned in the microsoft articles...unfortunately most of the articles dealt with errors after upgrading to a new product or changing ISP's. The thing that stumps me ..is when my father logs on to his ISP (PeoplePC)...he gets the connection...then the password is verified.., after that it should go to the homepage of PeoplePC but thats when it goes to the page that indicates page cannot be displayed. I dont know if having him reinstall his PeoplePC would solve the problem or not.

I uninstalled the People PC (ISP) and reinstalled it and everything works fine. Not really sure what caused this issue...but it seems resolved at least for now...thanks for all the suggestions and links to the good articles.
