Running BBC iPlayer recently I selected 'full screen' but then I could find no way to exit the iPlayer - eventually I had to use Task Manager to stop the application BUT when I next accessed the Internet all the pages had lost the frame - no toolbar, no exit or minimise options!! After some poking about I got into the Internet Options Advanced Tab and clicking Restore Defaults returned all to normal.

However, during all this I looked at Internet Add-ons to see if the problem was there, which give rise to my question.

Selecting Manage Add-0ns lists then all, and I found that I have:

2 identical versions of Quick Time Object - one has a Use Count of 5 and the other of 0. Is it possible (or desirable) to delete the '0' one?

3 different versions of XML DOM Document, 3, 4 and 6. Same question as above.

    All suggestions welcome.

Hi Tony King. It is possible that both those quicktime add-ons were from different versions of the quicktime program that you installed. You can experiment if you want and disable the Quicktime add-on that has a use count of 0 and see if you notice any change.

As for the XML Document I also have a few versions of that same add-on enabled but I would leave those add-ons alone.

If the full screen Internet Explorer happens to you again, just press the F11 key or, conversely, press the F11 key to change IE to full screen.

That may work for the iPlayer, as well. I don't use it so I don't know for sure but since it's going to full screen affected IE, I suspect it will.

Thanks Evan. I'll try the 'disable' option.

Thank you, Miz. I am a bit confused by your instruction ". . if full screen IE happens press F11 or conversely press F11 for full screen IE . . ". Did you mean this?

Hi again, Evan. I just this minute went into 'Manage Add-Ons' to follow your suggestion, and I was amazed to see that ALL the duplicated versions of Quicktime Object and XML DOM have disappeared !!!

    Hopefully, problem solved.

If you're reading this in IE, Firefox or Chrome, try it. Press F11.

    Now press it again.

    F11 toggles a full-screen browser window.

 Thank you Spyware Dr. How simple !! Works like a charm, but only if one knows it, of course.
