I have been out of town for a few weeks and I shut everything down on my computer including the Westell DSL modem furnished by Verizon.

When I returned and turned everything on, the little computer icons on the lower toolbar right side of the screen had little exclamation points on them.

When I right click them, my network connections screen comes up and says
    BROADBAND
    Verizon DSL
    Disconnected
    WAN Miniport (PPPOE)

    then:
    Incoming
    No clients connected

    then:
    LAN or High-Speed Internet
    Local Area Connection
    Limited or no connectivity
Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC

    Wireless Network Connection
    Connected
    Wireless USB Adapter

I called the Verizon Tech support and they say that since I am able to connect to the internet (I am assuming because I have a wireless adapter connected to my main computer also) that the problem is with the internet adapter located inside my computer. Could this really be the problem?

Here is how I am connected to my computer:
    DSL Phone line into Westell
Westell to Compex NetPassage 16A via CAT 5
Net Passage to computer via CAT 5
(I am using all ethernet cables included with units)

I also have an Apple unit connected the the Westell unit via an ethernet cable and I have no problem getting on the internet with that...and it is not connected to a wireless unit.

I am having all kinds of weird problems occuring since my unit has been shut off. I think the Boogie Man has decided to move into it!!

    Thanks guys for your opinions!!

    You ARE connected via wifi.
Try disabling the wifi adapter via Device Manager:
    go to device manager
rt click the wifi adapter > select Properties
at bottom select "do not use this device "
    reboot and see what happens.
