    Hi

Is there anyone can give me a solution to the following........

I have a laptop running W2K with all the latest service packs installed, on 2MB broadband via a single user adsl modem.

The modem connects OK and browser (IE & Firefox) works fine as does email (OE) but only for several pages then is not able to access anything - page not found etc.

    IP config displays .....
    IP Address 81.154.11.141
    Subnet Mask 255.255.255.255
    IP Gateway 81.154.11.141

Unable to ping www. anthing or an IP address. BTW the adsl line is still connected.

The machine needs to be re-booted and then works fine for a while and then repeats the problem.

    Any ideas?????

    Gordon

You might try looking for updated drivers for the modem.

I was having problems with a firewall. I was constantly getting dropped. I removed the firewall and used another. Works fine.

There is a possibility that your TCP/IP Internet protocol is broken. You will have to remove the TCP/IP Internet protocol from the network adapter, reboot then reinstall the TCP/IP and reboot again. Hopefully that will fix your problem
