internal application error

    I am using Windows 98. When attempting to open windows media player 9, I get a window that says internal application error. How do I fix this? please help

    Some useful information here - basically reinstall Media Player first and see if that resolves the problem.

    what are codec and how do I know if they have been installed properly?

    Codec

    Hardware that can convert audio or video signals between analog and digital forms (coder/decoder); hardware or software that can compress and uncompress audio or video data (compression/decompression); or the combination of coder/decoder and compression/decompression. Generally, a codec compresses uncompressed digital data so that the data uses less memory.
