intermittent mouse on win2000 pro

    I recently did a total reformat and loaded win2000 pro on a friends computer, everything new and fresh. However, now he says that on a daily basis he has to reboot at least two or more times before the mouse will work at all. He has tried different mice all with the same result. After the reboots, all is well. Any help or suggestion??

    I'd go into device manager and remove any rodent-related entries then reboot and let the system detect what was there.
