I am running windows XP, and have not had any problems with my wireless internet until recently. I play party poker online, and recently began experienceing frequent disconnects. They occur for about 30 seconds to one minute at a time and occur approximately once every five minutes.

At no time does my wireless internet show it is disconnected, but if I try to open a webpage it will show page not found.

I first thought it was a wireless card problem, but after hours on the phone with linksys we tried wired connection to my cable modem (comcast) and had the same problem!

Then I though it might be the modem or the router, but my roomates computer is hooked up wired to the router and he is not having any problems.

The only thing left that could be the problem is my laptop. I did a virus scan and did find a trojan virus that I have since removed. I can't seem to find out why my computer is having these intermittent disconnects, and I cannot play party poker because of it! Any suggestions?

If you have SP2 installed, try the fix in Dez Bradley's post (the sticky post at the top of this Network forum).
