I dont mean to resurrect someone elses thread, but I am having the exact same problem. Same error messages, both ususally only lasting a second or 2, just long enough to kick me off of messenger, or an online game if im playing one. I am not using wireless, so its nothing like that. Were running DSL, I am hooked up though a linksys router.

I've scanned for viruses/spyware many times with no results (besides a couple tracking cookies in ad-aware). I do have hijack this, I could post a log if someone is able to decifer it.

Ive basically noticed this since shortly after I installed a program called "Mega Manager" (I wanted to download files from that site and it said if i download that i wouldnt need to wait the 60 seconds before the downloads start). I have since deleted this program but am still getting the error.

    Anyone have any suggestions??

Sorry, I personally would not be able to decipher the log for you but over in the virus thread I just a few weeks ago went through that process and you should be able to get help there, I was having the search engine problem where it would open another link, sounds like something might have been attached to that mega downloader thing or maybe you have a bad cable?

Hello Mel, and welcome to the forum.

I've separated your original post (and AgeXVII's response to it) out of the thread where you originally posted, as I think it deserve the attention it will get standing on it own.

It appears to be clear that the problem stems from the Mega Manager software installation. This software could be causing the problem because of something it is doing, or because of a fault caused by the installation or that happened during the installation. The first step to correct the problem therefore, would be to carry out a system restore back to a point before you installed the Mega Manager software.

Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore

I was confused at first I will admit, because I looked back in the original thread and couldnt find my post. haha.

Do you think it would be safe to burn the things I want to keep to a CD before I do a system restore? I have downloaded quite a few videos and created some graphics since I last made a system restore point. Would that hurt anything?

That would be a very sensible thing to do.

Well, so far so good... but the real test will be when I can do some gaming this weekend. I did a system restore yesterday & havent noticed the pop-up warnings since. :)
