    Dear Sir,

I am using Windows 7 SP1 having 2 ethernet cards viz. Realtek RTL8139/810x and Intel(R) PRO/100 VE. The second one is on board. The RTL8139/810x is used for connecting to Internet and the second one Intel(R) PRO/100 VE is reserved for sharing the Net connection using ccproxy. But my system says that Intel(R) PRO/100 VE is not recognised though all the Hardwares are installed properly. Please provide me suitable solutions so that I can share the net connection.

    Thanks in anticipation.

Doesn't that show that the system is recognizing the Intel(R) PRO/100 VE?

Today itself I found that my system is recognising the LAN card. But at the same time it shows that the network is 'Unidentified Public Network' which is not allowing me to share my Internet connection.
    Please help.

the easiest way to share an internet connection is to buy a small 5 port 10/100 switch plug the Ethernet cable from your modem into it an plug both PC's into the switch

In doing so can I take the advantages of 'site restriction' offered by CCproxy?

depends on what sites you wish to block

joining OpenDNS and using their DNS servers allow you block just about anything you want from alcohol/pron to hate/violence sites and anything else you wish to add to a personal blocked sites list

Thats true, but in doing so the PC which I personally use will come under the same restriction which I don't want. That is why I prefer to go for a Proxy S/w. But the root problem of 'Unidentified Public Network' remains and that needs to be solved. But How?

Have you tried updating the network driver?

    • In the Search Programs and files box on your Start menu type devmgmt.msc and then press enter
    • Select the Network adapter device and right click on it, select Properties
    • Select the Driver tab, click the Update Driver button
    • After the installing the updates restart the computer

If that doesn't work, try resetting your TCP/IP stack.

You can have it done automatically (using the Fix it for me option) or manually. Instructions: How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)

    Dear Arie
I am giving you the details of what I had done till date and what I actually want.
I have got 2 NIC cards
    1. Intel(R) PRO/100 VE
    2. Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC
The first one is used to connect me to the Internet and the second one is for sharing the net connection with other pcs through a switch. My Ip configuration is as followes:
    Intel(R) PRO/100 VE (IP : Autometic)
    Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC (IP : 192.168.1.3 Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway : 192.168.1.1)

My system says that all the drivers are installed properly. But the NIC through which I want to share the net connection displays "Unidentified Public Network ". I had tried the same by interchanging the connections. But the NIC used to share the connection becomes 'Unidentified Public Network ".
As per your suggestion I had tried to reset IP manually. After that I found that my system could not recognise my Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC card and wanted to update the driver.
I do think that may be this problem is due to appropriate driver. Please do let me know if I am right. The driver version details are below
Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC (6.111.723.2009)
    Intel(R) PRO/100 VE (8.0.47.1)
    Please help.
(I don't want to sahre the internet connection using the switch)

You'll need to connect your switch to your router. Then you can share the Internet connection via the switch. No other way.
