Anyone have any idea how these drives differ in any way from oversized pen drives/USB keys? In other words, why choose a USB interface?

I have read about another company making flash drives with a SATA interface but they were only as fast as a fast IDE hard drive.

I'm looking forward to instant-on PCs but it looks like I'm still going to be waiting a while.
