We recently bought a second computer and I was hoping to network them sometime in the future. Our old computer has a Linksys 10/100 NIC which has a RJ type socket (same type as a telephone connector but wider). When we bought our new computer the specs said it had a 10/100 NIC but on closer inspection the specs say it is "Integrated 10/100 NIC ". I am guessing by "integrated" they mean built into the MB because there is no RJ type socket available to plug in any cable. When I run Belarc Advisor it identifies the NIC as "Realtek RTL8139/810X Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC ". I'm not real experienced with this stuff but I always assumed you would network two computers by connecting a cable between the RJ sockets on each NIC. But now I've got an "integrated" NIC that doesn't have an RJ socket and I am very confused. What does "integrated" mean? How would I hook up these two computers without an RJ socket on one of them?
So many questions - So much to learn. Cliff

My box has the same integrated (part of the MOBO) NIC. I had to turn the NIC on in the BIOS.

It has the plug-in right below the PS2 mouse jack. Look inside your box and see if the jack isn't covered up by the silver template that fits over the access jacks.

Mine came with two different templates but I put my system together from scratch and installed the wrong one. I always do everything twice it seems.;)

    :) Copy Cat :)

My case came with four different templates. I used the right one but did not open up the USB ports. And then wondered why I could not find a place to plug in the Cable for my USB Scanner.
