    Hi.

I have 2 NT4 domains and recently when I try to open User Manager it can't open and gives the error "Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service ". A reboot will allow it to work for a day tops.

When I search TechNet I find the exact problem but it says it was fixed in SP4.

The system is running NT4.0, SP6a + patches. I think it started after we applied a patch but we applied a lot together.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Are there other errors happening at the same time?

There are quite a few possible causes for this and it would help in figuring out exactly what is causing yours.

    - Maybe you just plain don't have enough RAM.

    - Could be an app the needs more of certain resources. Norton AV server version, for instance, will cause this behavior if it needs a larger IRPStackSize value. Other AV programs will cause it as well but may need different tweaks.

So, system specs would help. And an idea of which servers this is happening on (DCs, dB servers, what).

    Thanks for the responce.

This is happening to ALL our domain controllers in two seperate domains. The controllers do not have any other function but they all run Norton AntiVirus Copr. Edition. Some systems have 500mb ram and others have 1gig ram.

    There are no other errors!

    Thanks

    Lorcan:(
