Well, symantic is a waste of space so I'm hoping someone can help me. I can't install norton system works, i can't execute 90% of executables. Self-extracting especially. It was suggested that I had the dreaded CIH virus, but I ran the utilities to disable and then scan for it, but they turned up negative for the CIH. Where do I go from here?

 

WEll - You could start by saying your OS and the version of system works you are trying to use.

And what AV package you used to make sure you don't have any CIH variant.

And if you cannot run 90% of the self-extracting .exe files, could you possibly indicate what errors you are getting - specifically and exactly.

And if you are having problems running existing programs on your system other than the abovementioned Norton Systemworks.
