Not sure if this is the right place, if not, mods please move.

Ok, so I got my new lappy in today and it has Vista. Anyway, I don't like Vista right now. I will keep my recovery disc, but I want to install XP Pro instead. However, when I put in my XP PRo boot disc and get to the page where it says "install windows XP" it doesn't see the hard drive! WTH??? Is this some security feature built in to Vista? Please help me! How can I install Vista?
