Hello Everyone, My computer is Packardbell I.Extreme 6080,operating Windows XP Home Edition. It is 3 years old. I intend to use the makers master disks to bring it back to factory specification.

I have purchased Norton Internet Security 2007 on CD which includes Norton Antivirus.

Following the use of the master disks can I install the Norton CD prior to re-connecting to my ISP server? I want to avoid a virus attack in the time between ISP server connection and Norton CD installation. I would appreciate your views as to the best way to proceed.

    Regards, William.

I see no reason why you could not do that - once up and running you will need to update 2007 to the latest definitions. The risk of picking up something between installing and updating is very slight as a definition set will be installed from the CD and the AV will be active during the update.

Do not forget to visit Microsoft (Windows) Update - there will be 3 years worth of updates to download and install.
