You didn't say what model of Aptiva you had. I have a 2168-M53 and getting a card to work was a pain. From talking to others that had an Aptiva they too had a hard time with a video upgrade. The cards that people could get to work were made by ATI and 3dfx Voodoo.

Are you swapping a video card? Putting a slot video card in a computer that has been running a video chip? What kind of slot?

Russ ... After looking over the aptiva video card replacement there at that site its not the same with my computer there i beleive they are refering to windows 95 and i have Windows xp pro its totally different but its okay though because i did get the card install... All i had to do was just take the old card out and replace it with new one added the driver and its up and running ok ... Oh yes i have the Aptive 2163 584 with 384 ram and now with the ATI RADEON 7000 64M
