I already have a dual-boot Win2000 and Linux system. I am doing dual booting with the System Commander portion of Partition Commander 9. Switching to 32-bit XP will probably cause me more problems than it will solve, so I am considering instead going for triple-boot Win2000 / WinXP64 / Linux.

Would it be ok if I make a new primary partition and install XP64 into it -- or does XP64 insist in being in the first primary partition only? Would XP64 convert my existing NTFS partitions into a form that Win2000 cannot access? Would XP64 mess up my ext3 partitions?

Windows XP x64 can be installed on any primary partition.

Windows 2000 can access NTFS partitions.

As for your linux partitions... you'll have to pray for them.
