Hello, I have recently reinstalled Windows XP Home on this computer. In the process a firewall, ActiveArmor by Nvidia,(it was on the motherboard driver and utilities cd) was installed also. I subsequently installed ZoneAlarm, which I have been using for some time. I have tried to get rid of the ActiveArmor firewall but have been unable to completely uninstall it. It was not in the Add/Remove control panel. How do I get rid of this beastie completely, short of mucking around in the registry?! Thanks and best regards,

I don't know the answer but I used Google to find their web site: http://www.nvidia.com/object/feature_activearmor.html

Perhaps you can find something on it. Try the knowledge Base and/or Known Issues.

Also, is the program listed in the Start>Programs listing? If so there may be an uninstall listed there.

Another possibility is to look in the Programs Folder at C:\Programs Folder\... for a Nvidia folder. There may be an uninstall listed there.

Thanks for your response. I did go into the programs Folder and saw an Nvidia program there that I had never seen on the previous install on this same computer, went to Add/Remove and there was the program 'Network Access Manager', I removed it and the ActiveArmor firewall is now totally gone!:D Thanks again,

It seems to me that there is an option in the nvidia control panel
Maybe in the tray on the bottom right of your screen you can get into it.
At the worst if keeps popping up asking you which firewall you want to use - windows or the nvidia.
If you take the nvidia console out of the startup ( msconfig) it seems to do the trick
