Installed Software Lost Both CD Roms

I found a generic Program to install a Mustek1200UB Scanner When I started the install A new usb popped up and it asked for a driver disk to finish I didn't know what to do so I canceled it! It found new hardware called Imaging drive and it took both D And E drives out which are my cd drives I uninstalled the program did a system restore still no CD's Went to the Device manager and removed the Imaging Drive which had a??? by it and proceeded to remove both CD Drives and rebooted ! After reboot still no CD Drives Both show with a ! next to them I suspect a IRQ conflict but don't see anything in listing of the IRQ's but I need experienced help! Please help me if Possible!! Thanks

Who knows what strange things can happen when an install of drivers is aborted.

I'd recommend trying the install again in hopes it would complete and thereby put things back in shape. BTW, I checked the makers site and the driver download consists of five separate downloads which total over 5 megs. Was yours that large? Maybe you didn't get them all?? Just askin'

Other than that, you may try a registry cleaning tool to wipe all traces of Mustek from it but that's clutching at straws and fairly labor intense not to mention the possible risks. My favorite tool for that is RegSeeker since it has an excellent search tool.
