    Hi,
You should have an option screen for selecting "Windows" or "Recovery Console" when booting up.
Did you look for this when starting your PC?

    Recovery Console

Yes, I have that option each and every time. What I want to do is bypass having to make that selection getting it back to what is was before I installed the Recovery Console. I found instructions for "Removing the Recovery Console" at www.theeldergeek.com/recovery_console.htm but it is not as step by step as this old name needs it.

    Ron,

Sorry to tell you that the instructions on that link are exactly step by step - and the same as here

    How can we help you?

Ron - no need to remove the recovery console. It may well come in handy some fine day. But no need to be annoyed by having to make a choice every time you boot.

My suggestion is to leave it there but make sure the normal OS boot is set as your default. Then you can either set the delay at zero seconds so you'll never see a choice or set it at 2-3 seconds so you can change if you need to but don't have to wait long for the default boot option to happen.

Step-by-step options for changing that setting that is probably still on the default of 30 seconds or something similar:

    - right-click on the My Computer icon
    - left-click on properties~advanced~startup & recovery
    - change the time in the Time to display list of operating systems to suit yourself. You can always change it again if you don't like the first option.

If zero you won't see the recovery console option at all. That means if you have serious problems you'll need to boot from the CD to get back to recovery. I'd strongly suggest 2 seconds.

    Recovery

Pete and Newt, Sorry I am so late getting back to you for a thanks but I have been gone for a few days with my bride (32yrs) to Sanibel Is. west of Ft Myers, FL.

The problem was I could find C: Cmdcons but no Cmldr.

I didnt wanna start anything until I could figure out or see through what I was to be doing. I have reformatted this hog many times cause I could figure no other way to fix stuff I had goofed up. Tis fun but I am just a tad to busy right now.

I have decided to leave it.

    Thanks for everything.

    :D
