    Hi,

I had several versions of Mozilla and never had a problem until I installed Mozilla 1.7 rc. There are several extensions I have tried to install IE View, Home button, and cutemenus. They have the same problem an install tab shows loading but never loads and I get a blank page. I was finally able to get IE View to load but when I tried to install I get this message "Failed to load Class manifest attribute from c/documents & settings/Marilyn Collari/local/temp/IE View the error message is from Java Virtual Machine Launcher. I also recieived this message not a valid Win32 application. I have tried open with but soon found out it's a text document and opened in word pad.
The web site which I am trying to download these 3 extensions is
    http://extensionroom.mozdev.org/#autoscroll

Thank you for any help you can give me I will appreciate it.

    Marilyn,

I've never used an extension, but I wonder if this has to do with the fact that this is not a final Release, and still a work in progress? Add your comments to those on the Extension site.

Try Mozilla 1.6 and see if the extensions work there.

Thanks Ramona for replying. I had Mozilla 1.6 before 1.7 rc and never had a problem downloading extensions. I did notice when the save download window appears that the file extension is xpi document. I'm sure that it is downloaded as a text document but I have no knowledge of how to change it to just xpi.
    Thanks again.

    Marilyn,

I did a right click on the "Install" link for the Home button, and it was downloaded as home.xpi. Then to install, just drag the home.xpi file to your browser window. Is this how you're trying install the extension? Have you double checked Preferences to ensure that you have software installation enabled?

I had no problems installing, and elected to place the file in the Application folder. Closed Mozilla 1.7 RC 2, reopened and the Home Button is in place.

    Ramona,
I must apoligize for not answering sooner. I was under the weather for a few days.
I followed your suggestions for installing the home button and the other two extensions and all 3 extensions are now installed in Mozilla.
I did have software installation enabled.
    Thanks again for your help.

    Hi Marilyn,

I'm so glad that you were able to install the extensions after all! Hope you are feeling much better now.
