My friend has a Fujitsu Siemens amilo Pi 1505.

It doesn't boot it just keeps booting to a blue screen which says "autochk program not found - skipping AUTOCHECK" it then goes to a black log screen with writing, (too fast too read) restarts & continues to do this over & over.

The recovery disks have been lost, so I tried my copy of home to see if I can repair the installation or even do a fresh install.

The problem is it has a sata drive which XP doesn't recognize, for an experiment & to test if the HDD was OK I put in my copy of Vista, & that found the HDD fine.

I know I have to install third party drivers pressing F6 but without a floppy drive present it's not easy. I have searched & read many posts with mention to using nLite but that hasn't proved hints or suggestions.

I have tried for over a week now & could really use some assistance.

    TIA

    Elv

The "autochk program not found" error is almost invariably caused by the Windows partition being hidden. Do you have the means to check for this and change it if need be?

Does the XP CD you are using have SP2 on it?

Does the laptop have an onboard recovery facility that you get to by pressing a key at boot up? If so then be aware that doing a repair or fresh install of Windows will most likely disable it.
