I have installed a new printer a HP Deskjet 3050A recently and need to uninstall old printer i.e. Epson DX4400.

Every time i try to do it it is saying:-

'Install Shield (R) set up launch has encountered a problem and needs to close.

This is happening on all the programs connected Epson.

I have downloaded the software for the HP Deskjet successfully but cannot get it to connect to the computer and I think it may be because Epson is still on there.

Be grateful of any help please.

Hi Snowdrop. Since you can't remove the Epson printer software using the Install Shield uninstaller, we will have to find a different way of uninstalling it.

    Try following these steps:

    1. Download the portable version of Revo Uninstaller. (Its at the very bottom of the download page)
    2. Save the folder to your desktop.
    3. Once the program has finished downloading, locate the zipped folder, right click it and select Extract all.
    4. After the folder has been extracted open up the folder and locate the revouninstaller.exe program.
    5. Launch the program and locate the Epson software entry.
    6. Highlight the entry and select Uninstall.
    7. A window will come asking you which mode you would like to use to remove the Epson software.
    8. Click on Advanced Mode and then click the Next button.
    9. Follow the steps in the Wizard and make sure that you delete all files and registry entries that are found for the Epson software.
    10. If there is more than one Epson entry in the programs list, then follow steps 6-9 again.
    11. After the removal process finishes, reboot the computer.
    12. Once the computer reboots, go ahead and install the software for the HP Deskjet printer.

Let me know if the above process works or not.

If the printer is less than a year old HP will provide technical support for the first year.

No Problem. When you connect the printer to the computer do you get an error message?

Yes it is saying ' The WPA security passphrase configured on your HP printer does not match your wireless router settings'.

I had it set up perfectly then then had a PDF attachment that would not print off so uninstalled the printer and then tried to install it again ? I downloaded Adobe Reader recently and have had trouble ever since so took that off and now use Foxit .I have followed the instructions from HP to the letter .I know it is probably something stupid I am doing:(
