    "Add New Hardware Wizard "

    In tring to make a new reinstall for a scanner the folks at Epson gave me some instructions after which they said the "ADD NEW
    HARDWARE WIZARE" should come up. It didn't. They said to try another "USB" port and that it should come up. It didn't. Is there some way to get this wizard up via another means?

    "Add New Hardware Wizard" part 2

    I can't seem to find my CD for 'Windows 98SE'. Is there another way I can get a driver so as to install a scanner?

    Try the Epson web site, and look for the product - support - drivers.

    I have downloaded the 4 drivers at Epson.com for my 1200U Photo scanner that are for Win 98SE. They are; Twain Driver v4.2;
    Twain Driver v5.53A; Perfection 1200 USB & SCSI Windows 98 INF File & Epson Scan! II 32 Utility v2.35E for Windows 95/98/ 2000/NT 4.0 (With Service Pack 3 or higher). I have gone to the 'install new hardware' but when I reach a certain point Windows can't seem to find the scanner. Advise?

    Hey, *noodles*, are you trying to make some kind of point by repeating the contents of your thread in the Win98 forum? :rolleyes:

    no, just thought that perhaps someone that reads 'Hardware' but not 'Windows 98' might be able to help.

    EPSON SCANNER INSTALLATION

    Not sure whether my experience is the same, but I did have problems with my recent installation of Epson Perfection 1250. Do you have their installation disk? They made a big point that software had to be installed before the scanner is hooked up. Perhaps that was why Windows couldn't find it. For some software problems, you may need to contact the software people directly. That info was provided in my users guide. If you do not have that, Epson should be able to give you the name and number. I did have to install a later version of the copy utility drivers than was provided with the scanner. What fixes are necessary are posted on the epson support site.
    My experience--good scanner. You have to beta test the software.

    OK, I just read one should not place the same question in two places. What is a senior member?
