    Welcome to WindowsBBS :)

Try using Compatability Mode - long time since I used XP, but if memory serves right click on the installation .exe > Compatability.

That is what I did and it does not appear to work with this game. I do not know which one I should select, I have 4 choices, First Choice is 1. This sets the program to For PC Compatibles TANDY
    2. sets the machine for high perfomance PCs Machine
    3. sets the machine for an IBM PS2 Machine
    4. sets the machine for an Amstrad PC 1640 or PC 1512 Machine
and if I remember correctly and it has been a long time ago I used 1, I think I used 2 sometimes but nothing seems to work on this laptop. I just keep going in circles and the game never runs no matter whether I select 1. 2. 3. or 4.
The game is Lemmings by Psygnosis 1991 and says IBM + 100% Compatibles Amstrad PCs Tandy PCs. I think I have even played it on Win98 and Windows 2000.

Surprised that it runs in Vista and not XP as the cores of those 2 Os's are different.

I checked a .exe on XP and the options were Windows 95 through to Windows 2000. The fact that those options do not appear for you is not encouraging.

I suggest you Google - this is one hit I found relevant to XP .....

Don't like Dos, never did understand it completely and I will not run Ubuntu because it is too much like Dos. Give me Windows and forget Dos. I wonder if I can find a CD of Lemmings somewhere? I started on Windows 3.1 for Workgroups. Before that I had Commodore 128?.
