I have been working recently on a file in Word 2000, having to insert several graphics into the text. It seems there ought to be a way to change the default settings. Every time I insert, I have to open format | picture | layout, and change the default text wrap setting. I cannot find anything in the help section about changing the default settings for this "“ does someone know how to do that?

Not sure about making a preference for this stick, but rather than going through the menubar or the right click menu, make sure you have the "picture" toolbar checked in the "view ">toolbars and from then on when ever you need to "insert" a graphics/pic or set a "text wrap style ", the picture toolbar has several useful icons [such as text wrapping] that are one or two clicks away from you. This is less painful than the method your using.

Thanks, goddez - I don't know why I didn't think of that! Took your advice, and just put the one button for the exact text wrap style I wanted, right up on my standard toolbar ----- rather than opening up and docking yet another toolbar on my screen.

And there it is, one click away. Great!

Next time I do another file like that I'll probably even put the button for insert picture on the tool bar as well. Sometimes there is a different solution and it's so obvious you can't see it. I sure appreciate your help!

    Your most welcome,
There may well be an preference option somewhere for this but the toolbar buttons are just as easy.

Thank you for taking the time to update your post and I'm glad it helped. :D
